Food for Life

A radical shift in our healthcare system is urgently needed:  from a reliance on pharmaceuticals to an emphasis on nutrition and quality food consumption. During an early critical stage, food had been #1 priority in bringing Mother back from anorexia and near-death caused by long-term use of a “state-of-the-art” Alzheimer’s pharmaceutical. A “Food-As-Medicine” approach nourished her back to her previous weight and appetite.

A number of years later (2006) – when Dr. Weil’s e-newsletter suggested a “detox” of kitchen cabinets, we removed sugar, flour, and processed foods from our kitchen cabinets and eliminated them  from our dietary intake. This also marked a turning point to eating organic foods whenever they were available. These lifestyle choices have provided steady energy and have been sustainable for many years.
