Leadership begins with telling the truth
During President Trump’s term in office, legislators have been threatened by his tweets. Inexplicably, they appear to lack moral courage to stand up to his berating, authoritarian tweets.
How can this president – so lacking in moral courage – maintain such a strong hold on an entire group of elected officials? Can they really be sacrificing their own integrity by aligning with a man who has exhibited no moral fiber – only for their own re-election?
This lack of response has been completely baffling. On Sunday, retired four-star general and former Secretary of State, Colin Powell, stated in an interview, “Come on, guys. You can make it in private life if not re-elected!”
On this eve of a break in the partisanship of the last four years, is he finally losing his grip following last week’s assault on the Capitol?

Considering these January 2021 events and the prevailing political climate, Christiane’s own clarity and courage are a refreshing reminder of the importance of leaders who begin by telling the truth.
She, in fact, spoke of her interview with French President Macron who discussed with her the importance of “truth and love” in leadership.
In 2017, Christiane was asking, “Where are the codes of conduct?” She stated that we need a “filter-the-crap-algorithm with moral technology.” And, she admonished – we must be really careful where we get our information.
Her 2017 prophetic words about potential catastrophe
“Unless we are all engaged as global citizens who appreciate the truth, who understand science, empirical evidence and facts, then we are going to be wandering around – to a potential catastrophe.”
Have we now met up with that “potential catastrophe”? Have we hit the bottom yet?
It is no small concern.
