International Women’s Day is a day of global celebration of the achievements of women and a call to action in accelerating women’s equality. Please join us in this “writing celebration” and see your work published online!

WHAT:  You are invited to submit a story on the subject, “Tributes to Matriarchs, Healers and Heroes” to be included in our online publication.

WHO:  An individual, a family, or a group may submit an essay about an inspiring matriarch. Using Dictionary.com to define “matriarch,” we are seeking stories of inspiration about…

  • The female head of a family OR…
  • A woman who is a founder or leader of a community or group OR…
  • A respected older woman

WHEN:  In observance of International Women’s Day on March 8, we are making the call for submissions during March – and ongoing!

WHY:  To memorialize women of courage and perseverance whose lives have helped to shape and impact your own!

Who has most inspired you in being who you are today? We invite you to submit your story for publication. It may be written by a family or an individual as a tribute to an older woman – a matriarch – living, deceased, or perhaps suddenly lost through COVID-19 in the last year. Photos are welcome, but not required.
