Welcome to ABeautifulVoice.org!

Our mission is to amplify my mother’s voice in shaping a more compassionate conversation around brain health, soul care, and well-being with fresh  perspectives from psychology, society, and culture.

Over 25 years after arriving back in my hometown and at my mother’s bedside, the silence now feels too much like complicity. We must name what is happening – because what we refuse to confront, we allow to continue.

I find myself asking whether we have grown numb to a government…

  • that turns cruelty into an acceptable political strategy, entirely unchecked.
  • that prioritizes the wealthy over the vulnerable and normalizes  such actions.
  • that clouds the future of elder care, creating an uncertain reality.
  • where daily injustices befall “the least of these” and constitutional rights are being chipped away.
  • where elder care remains unstable and underfunded and the family carer continues to face growing burdens without support.

The urgency for transformation especially for the oppressed and those living with dementia has only intensified. The downward spiral is unmistakable, even if national media rarely acknowledges it.

This silence speaks volumes. Real care isn’t just what we do – it’s how we show up. And who we are as a nation is revealed in how we care for those who can no longer care for themselves.

If this speaks to you, please share it forward.
